Movestuff began with a single truck and a simple idea. Over a decade ago, life forced a change. With health challenges cutting short a career in building, our family turned to moving small loads around Auckland. It was tough work: tight driveways, heavy lifting, long hours, and rising costs. But every move taught us something about resilience, about service, and about the industry itself. When we shifted into long-haul transport, the challenge became clear: every return trip meant wasted fuel, wasted time, and lost income. The breakthrough came with backloads filling trucks on their way home.

Suddenly, moving became more affordable for customers, more profitable for drivers, and better for the environment. Then one morning, watching empty trucks roll off the Picton ferry, it hit us: this wasn’t just our problem. Across New Zealand, most trucks were running half-full. The inefficiency was staggering, and so was the opportunity. The solution was simple in theory but complex in practice: match people who need things moved with drivers already heading that way.
